A Bill

Make appropriations for 12 organizations

Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the Youngstown State University Student Government Association assembled, that the following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Appropriations Fund not otherwise appropriated, for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 2018, for the following activities of student organizations:

Section 1: The Black Student Union, is appropriated the sum of $300.00 from the Chartwell’s fund and $410.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of catering, flag/ribbon pins, promotional, and advertising fees for their “Veteran’s Day Breakfast” event held on November 9th, 2017. This event will be held in the Ohio Room of Kilcawley Center. Seventy-five (75) participants are expected to attend.

Section 2: Student Nonprofit Leadership Organization, is appropriated the sum of $250.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of fifty (50) student tickets to their “90’s Night Out: Lip Sync Battle” event held on December 8th, 2017. This event will be held at Suzie’s Dogs & Drafts downtown. Fifty (50) students are expected to attend.

Section 3: Youngstown State Hip Hop Team, is appropriated the sum of $330.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of van rental and gas fees to their “Showcase at Edinboro” event held on November 18th, 2017. This event will be held at Edinboro University, PA. Seventeen (17) students are expected to attend.

Section 4: Student Recreational Advisory Committee, is appropriated the sum of $500.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of parking and security fees for their “Namaste in the YO” event held on November 12th, 2017. This event will be held in the WATTS Center at Youngstown State University. Three hundred (300) participants are expected to attend.

Section 5: Sigma Alpha Epsilon, is appropriated the sum of $400.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of hotel fees for their “Province Pi Leadership School” held on November 17th and 18th, 2017. This event will be held at the University of Akron, OH. Twenty (20) students are expected to attend.

Section 6: Armed Forces Student Association, is appropriated the sum of $1,500.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of hotel fees and airfare for their “Student Veterans of America National Convention 2018” event held on January 3rd through the 7th, 2018. This event will be held in San Antonio, TX. Two (2) students are expected to attend.

Section 7: Association for Computing Machinery-Women’s Chapter, is appropriated the sum of $250.00 from the Chartwell’s fund to defray the cost of food for their “LAN-Party+” event

held on November 11th, 2017. This event will be held in the Chestnut Room in Kilcawley. Fifty (50) students are expected to attend.

Section 8: Student Literary Arts Association, is appropriated the sum of $500.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of photography, videography, and catering fees for their “Jenny Magazine Issue 13 Premiere” event held on November 17th, 2017. This event will be held at the SOAP Gallery in Youngstown, OH. Sixty (60) participants are expected to attend.

Section 9: Youngstown State Men’s Club Lacrosse, is appropriated the sum of $360.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of van rental fees to their “Fall Scrimmage” event held on November 12th, 2017. This event will be held at Allegheny College, PA. Nineteen (19) students are expected to attend.

Section 10: Racquetball Club, is appropriated the sum of $360.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of van rentals to their “MERC Tournament #2” event held on November 11th, 2017. This event will be held at the University of Purdue, IN. Ten (10) students are expected to attend.

Section 11: Men’s Club Volleyball, is appropriated the sum of $240.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of a physical trainer for their “Volleyball Tournament” event held on November 14th, 2017. This event will be held in Stambaugh Stadium at Youngstown State University. Eleven (11) students are expected to attend.

Section 12: Men’s Club Volleyball, is appropriated the sum of $125.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of entry fees into their “Case Western Volleyball Tournament” event held on November 12th, 2017. This event will be held at Case Western University, OH. Eleven (11) players are expected to attend.

Section 13: YSU Equestrian Team, is appropriated the sum of $980.00 from the general fund to defray the cost of horseman and entry fees for their “Findlay Horse Show” event held on November 3rd, 2017. This event will be held in Findlay, OH. Eleven (11) students are expected to attend.
