Minutes for November 9, 2010-James Gallery, Kilcawley Center

The Presiding Officer Mr. Nicholas Meditz called the meeting to order at approximately 4:05 pm.

Mr. Meditz said that Mr. Dan Kuzma will speak later if in attendance.

Mr. Meditz noted that business cards are in, thanks to Gary Davenport. He added that Wick Pollock cleanup was a success as well as Meet the Reps night at Lemon Grove café.

Mr. Meditz yielded himself to questions. No questions.

Mr. Meditz moved to Executive VP Report.

Mr. Mesik reminded the body of Last Lecture Series date.

Mr. Mesik yielded himself to questions. No questions.

Mr. Meditz moved to VP for Financial Affairs Report.

Mr. McIntyre delivered VP for Financial Affairs Report.

Mr. McIntyre yielded himself to questions. No questions.

Ms. Sarich thanked everyone who came to Homecoming Tailgate.

Ms. DiBernardi highlighted committee’s meeting with former Academic Affairs Chair Joni Koneval. Also discussed Last Lecture Series.

Mr. Nuzzi yielded himself to questions. No questions.

Mr. Meditz moved to Financial Appropriations Report.

Mr. Okular yielded time to organizations to speak on behalf of their organizations.

Unfinished Business

Mr. Davenport noted the presence of approximately 25 students at the Wick-Pollock cleanup and that it was a great success. Members of ACE University, SAAB, and Emerging Leaders program present at cleanup. Will plan ahead and make body aware of spring garden cleanup.

Mr. Meditz yielded time to the two new SGA advisors Dr. DePoy and Dr. Lepak.

Dr. DePoy and Dr. Lepak gave introductions.

Mr. Meditz moved to discuss New Business.

New Business

Mr. Meditz moved to discuss SBF 2010-06.

Mr. Battiest motioned. Mr. Davenport seconds.

Mr. Meditz moved to close discussion.

Mr. Mesik motioned. Mr. Anderson seconds.

Mr. Meditz moved to vote on SBF 2010-06.

Motion carries, bill passes unanimously through voice vote.

Mr. Meditz moved to Gallery Remarks.

Gallery Remarks

Mr. DeAndre Radcliffe noted SAABs movie night tomorrow in Debartolo Hall and invited SGA to attend.

Ms. Gessler passed around attendance list for SGA formal and asked members to sign up them and their dates.

Ms. Classy Brown also in attendance at cleanup and brought members of her organizations.

Mr. Meditz moved to advisor’s remarks.

Advisor’s Remarks

Dr. DePoy said he is happy to be here. The SGA “barometer” is important to track for information in advisor meetings.

Dr. Lepak thanked body for letting him be here and appreciated an efficient meeting.

Mr. Meditz apologized for quick room change.

Mr. Meditz moved to Members’ Remarks.

Members’ Remarks

Mr. R. Meditz reminded the body that last YSU home game is Saturday.

Mr. Smith told body it is time to wrap things up, Christmas break will be here before you know it.

Mr. Vrabel asked what Last Lecture was over.

Ms. DiBernardi said we do not know.

Mr. Mesik added that it is open ended in purpose.

Mr. Okular said the Browns found their quarterback.

Mr. White recognized Mr. Davenport for his efforts in Wick Pollock cleanup.

Mr. Wesley thanked body for participation in Get out The Vote Campaign.

Ms. Lipp said her sorority is selling candy bars. See her after if interested.

Mr. Jarvis recognized new advisors.

Ms. Vlad thanked new advisors.

Mr. Davenport said will get a list together of Wick Pollack attendees. Thanked efforts of Gina Russo and Graphic Services. Said he is thrilled to see gallery full of people and full of questions. “We like the fact that you attend.”

Ms. Gessler said it was great having such a high attendance at Wick Pollack Cleanup. Thanked new advisors.

Ms. Stafford thanked new advisors and reminded body of Veteran’s Day holiday.

Mr. Mesik thanked new advisors.

Mr. Meditz thanked new advisors.

Mr. Meditz recognized Pat Donovan in coming out and cleaning up at the garden while reporting for the Jambar.

Mr. Meditz said he has tickets for raffle. Reminded body to schedule their classes.

Mr. Meditz motioned to adjourn.
