A Bill

Make Appropriations for 12 organizations

Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the Youngstown State University Student Government Association assembled, that the following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Appropriations Fund not otherwise appropriated, for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 2018, for the following activities of student organizations:

Section 1: Student Physical Therapy Association is appropriated the sum of $2,285 from the general fund to defray the cost of registration fees for the “OPTA Annual Conference and Advocacy Day” held on April 12, 2018 thru April 13, 2018. This event will be held in Columbus, OH. Twenty-eight (28) students are expected to attend.

Section 2: Student Physical Therapy Association is appropriated the sum of $300 from the Chartwells budget to defray the cost of food for their “White Coat Ceremony” held on May 4, 2018. This event will be held in Kilcawley Center. Eighty (80) students are expected to attend.

Section 3: Sigma Alpha Iota is appropriated the sum of $500 from the general fund to defray the cost of hotel and registration fees for their “National Convention” held on July 26th, 2018 thru July 30th, 2018. This event will be held in Scottsdale, AZ. One (1) Student is expected to attend.

Section 4: African Student Union is appropriated the sum of $750 from the general fund and $300 from the Chartwells budget to defray the cost of food, DJ, drummers, and dancers for their “Cultural Night” held on March 17, 2018. This event will be held on Youngstown State University’s campus.

Section 5: Black Student Union is appropriated the sum of $650 from the general fund to defray the cost of posters, security, DJ, and wristbands for their “90’s Party” held on February 23, 2018. This event will be held on Youngstown State University’s campus. Fifty (50) students are expected to attend.

Section 6: Men’s Soccer Club is appropriated the sum of $650 from the general fund to defray the cost of registration fees and hotel costs for their “Midwestern Alliance League” event held on April 7, 2018. This event will be held at Purdue University. Four (4) students are expected to attend.

Section 7: Ultimate Frisbee is appropriated the sum of $100 from the general fund to defray the cost of their bid fee for their “Mount Union Ultimate Frisbee Tournament” held on February 24th, 2018 thru February 25th, 2018. This event will be held at the University of Mount Union. Ten (10) students are expected to attend.

Section 8: YSU Equestrian Team is appropriated the sum of $1,065 from the general fund to defray the cost of entries, coach’s fees and hotel fees for their “Findlay Horse Show” event held on March 5th, 2018 thru March 6th, 2018. This event will be held in Findlay, OH. Eight (8) students are expected to attend.

Section 9: Student Investment Fund is appropriated the sum of $1,000 from the general fund to defray the cost of rental cars and parking for their “Quinnipiac G.A.M.E” event held on March 21st, 2018 thru March 24th, 2018. This event will be held in New York, NY. Twenty (20) students are expected to attend.

Section 10: Student Affairs and Leadership Support Association is appropriated the sum of $1,000 from the general fund to defray the cost of admission and lodging fees for their “NASPA Annual Conference” held on March 5th, 2018 thru March 6th, 2018. This event will be held in Philadelphia, PA. Eight (8) students are expected to attend.

Section 11: Order of Omega is appropriated the sum of $300 from the Chartwells budget to defray the cost of catering for their “Scholarship Celebration” event held on February 13th, 2018. This event will be held on Youngstown State University’s campus. Twenty (20) Two-hundred (200) students are expected to attend.

Section 12: Women’s Club Volleyball is appropriated the sum of $835 from the general fund to defray the cost of hotel and entry fees for their “University of North Carolina Ranking Tournament” event held February 23rd, 2018 thru February 25th, 2018. This event will be held at the University of North Carolina. Twelve (12) students are expected to attend.
